Data on the Textile Waste
textile_waste_management_graph_1960-2015
As seen in this graph, the majority of textile products end up in landfills every year, causing more pollution and damage to our environment.
In this graph, the energy to process and create the clothing product is much higher than any step to distribute the material to the consumer. Manufacturing creates more pollution than any other thing.

Our Goal
Eco-Lorem's goal is to prevent the demand for new manufacturing of clothing and reduce the waste of textiles in landfills by repurposing old clothing and material into recycled stylish apparel.
Volunteering
Eco-Lorem's work team volunteered in their community to pick up trash and eliminate the pollution in their environment. Victor cleaned up his neighborhood by picking up litter on the streets and parks while Kaya helped Chino Haven in their cleanup event. Even though their work didn't necessarily help reduce waste in the textile industry, as part of Eco-Lorem's mission, they still contributed to solving the initial problem of climate change and the growing causes of pollution.

Donated Materials Collected, Items Made
Displayed is a graph of our materials collected, repurposed, and effort over the past 10 weeks. In the initial starting weeks you can see our work progress as designs and ideas began to form of what we at Eco Lorem wanted to produce. Although we didn't reach our initial goal of using 30 materials (yet we're still producing up till December 12th!) we are incredibly proud of our work thus far and know that even small achievements make a big difference!
